GTR73
Has anyone ever used Under Gravel Jets as additional filteration to an external filter? My Webpage Apparently this creates extra water flow and keeps debris out of the gravel.
r.d.m
i actually used a variation of this years ago , then they were called a reverse flow undergravel filter, the outlet of a cannister filter was connected to what was the airlift so the water was pumped up through the gravel, the main reason i used this system was that i was keeping marine invertibrates and being mostly filter feeders this system kept the food in suspension for longer, i can only say the results were outstanding , the system was so succesful that my clownfish spawned and most of the inverts were healthy and growing,if the ugjets are as successful i can highly recommend them, they would have certain limitations - they wont work with any fish that dig for obvious reasons and plants dont seem to do well with moving water around their roots, but in the right application they should be brilliant
