Phenomena
Hi all, Someone I know has a handfull of "Geophagus Aripuana" (as far as the person knows). I was told that they were imported and rare (in Australia anyway). I did a little bit of Google search and found that Ariapuana refers to a locality. I also found that there are 3 Geophagus species with Aripuana locality: - Geophagus cf. altifrons "Aripuana 1" - Geophagus cf. altifrons "Aripuana 2" - Geophagus cf. argyrostictus "Aripuana" Do we have any or all of these? Thanks, DD
AMK
"Aripuana" is indeed a location. I too have read about those 3 species you mentioned. And I keep and breed the G. altifrons (Aripuana I) variety. cheers Andrew
Phenomena
Hi Andrew, What's the difference between Aripuana 1 and 2? Thanks, DD
crabros
Hi Guys, I think that Aripuana1 has a deeper body and more vividly patterned caudal fin. That's the diffrence. HTH Brett
