lee427
hi all just wondering how accurate is venting like 100percent accurate or somewhere aroud 60 all your comments would be appreciated some of you might think the question is stupid but i gosta know
Ducksta
How accurate is a piece of string? What species are you venting? Different species range from easy to notoriously harder to do with the naked eye. Although under the right magnification, the shape of the vents is always distinctly different between males and females.

Richard
I reckon its very accurate if you have two adult fish. The odds arent very big and if they both have different vents, then you guessed it, you have a male and female Richard
canerod
hey guys dont hang nappy filler on people for giving silly answers to silly questions. If the question had been "at what age or size can frontosa be accurately vent sexed?" then the answers may have been a little different. Actually there are a few factors involved in the answer * breed of fish (some are more difficult than others) * age or size of fish (younger or smaller fish would be more difficult) * experience of person doing the sexing (less experience = more mistakes) speaking of silly questions, I like this one, cause its so easy to answer "I've just bought a 4x2x2 tank, what should i fill it with?" Dah I'd try water but seriously lee427, not taking the urinary fluid out of you, your question had an infinite number of answers. Bob

trofius
fish are also much easier to vent once they have had a few spawns...
