yellow Posted May 2, 2006 Share Posted May 2, 2006 hello all myself and another forum member are deciding whether to ship a large fish(12-13 inches)down from the gold coast and before we do id just like to ask those with more experience than myself how they would go about it.Bagging wise that is to ensure the fishes safe arrival.any help would be greatly appreciated by myself and the fish thankyou jason Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Sarah Posted May 2, 2006 Share Posted May 2, 2006 we have driven fish down from the gold coast to sydney but they were only about 10inches and bagged with oxygen and doubled bag with a layer of newspaper surrounding each bag before being inserted into another bag, all survived the trip well , have only done it once though, i think if a fish comes out of highly oxygenated water like a reef system you can run into problems , cheers Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
D6C1 Posted May 2, 2006 Share Posted May 2, 2006 Been there done that. Make sure that the fish got a fair bit of room in the bag so it doesnt trash around and bust it. Also make sure you add some de-stresser to the water and some oxygen. Pad the box up with blown up bags when you sit the bag with the fish in it so it doesnt get thrown around the box.
