FlashieFront
My friend and I have just brought new fronts, saturday. they r not eating. is this normal? do they need to get used to there new home first. the owner gave me some food which they were eating but they don't seem to eat it now, how long will this last. they still look healthy. any advice would help. cheers
Momo
i would say they are just adjusting to their new environment, give them a few more days and they should be fine. thats assuming your water parameters are decent, also could be your parameters were quite different from the ones they came from. either way i would think they are just adjusting and they should be fine. depending on the size of the fronts they would be able to last a decent amount of time without food, i would be guessing a couple of weeks. they will probably eat very soon, HTH
mcloughlin2
Mr6ft, when i first bought some frontosas they did not begin eating vigourously for several weeks...they ate, but were very shy... Just give them some time to settle as momo said
Momo
also forgot to add seems to also depend on the size, basically i have found the larger they are the longer it takes. ie. for them to settle as well as eat.

lee427
yeah they are defiantly the shyest cichlid i've come across but once they settle in they be alright what are you feeding these guys
mcloughlin2
Also how big are they? If they are near the 4" mark, i would only feed them once every two days... If after a while you think theyre not getting enough feed once a day only...
DFishkeeper
Try offering them some prawn meat, my fronnies love it. I just use frozen bait prawns, defrosted & shelled, & cut the meat into thin strips with a sharp pair of scissors. Cheers, Doug
