gino123456
Hi guys just wondering which u think would be better. I currently have a standard 6fter which is divided in 3 and it houses a colony of yellows cobolt blues and mainganos, and in and 5fter which is under neath in the stand im using as a grow out tank for the babies i have . Now i was wondering if u think i should leave as is or put the babies in the sectioned 6fter and move the colonies in the 5ft tank. Now both ways have there plus and minus just wondering wat u guys think
m0oks
Whats the fish total for the 3 colonies? The amount of space they have in the 6fter divided into 3 section is very small to keep these colonies in. It would be best if the 3 colonies were in the 5fter altogether and place the fry in the 6fter divided into3 as it would be easier to catch the fry and do water changes. novafishy
You could also say its easier to catch the holding females in the divided 6fter than the 5fter.
huzzy
I would put all the adult fish in the 5 footer. They will appreciate the space, instead of being imprisoned in a 2ft division. The fry dont need the space but they do need the water volume to aid growth.
gino123456
So having them in the divided 6fter will not stop them from growing quickly then ? The babys that is
huzzy
Correct. When the fish get larger, say 5 - 6cm then the size of their souroundings will have more of an effect, however for the first 5cm of their life size plays a minimal role.
