tootie
Have just moved the parents and left the fry in the tank they were born in. They are about 1 month old approx. I have left the two shells each brood occupied. THe question is do I have to put more shells in or just leave as is? Thanks in advance, Tootie
gianniz
mines the cousin of meleagris (speciosus) and i have great success sucking out the youngs using a turkey baster or just remove their shells into a fry saver. this doesn't disturb the couples as much but i do see mummy wondering around looking for her fry i feel bad for taking her babies away from her... tootie
Yes, it's not a nice feeling thinking about taking the mother away from her fry - I'm just focusing on adv. Just to clarify - I removed the adults (2 f and 1m) into a larger tank as existing one was too small. I didn't quite expect them to breed yet. The question was I have only 2 shells in with the fry (probably about 18 of them). Do I need to add more shells to the tank or is this okay? Thanks, Tootie
gianniz
i don't think the frys need shells until they get to around 2cm+
