baz_dawg_n1
hey everyone, i am wondering if anyone knows the name of the chemical used to increase hardness levels in a fish tank? i currently work cleaning pools and to increase the hardness level in a swimming pool you use hardness increaser aka calcium chloride.. just wondering if anyone has tried using this in a fish tank? also, with adjusting ph's, alkalinity increaser aka sodiam bicarbonate, increases the ph, what chemical do you use to lower the ph? as after doing a computerised water test on sydney's tap water, i found out that the current ph of such water is 8.2... any info would be greatly appreciated cheers baz
malrift
Calcium carbonate is the main one used in aquaria but there is an excellent put out by Aqua pics that has proven to be very reliable.
