Elapid
Hey all, I just went out to feed some of my fish and saw one of my 6 footers was leaking quite fast. I am not sure what happened but I can see a decent crack in it Is it worth trying to repair or should it just be throw out?
Gav
if it is in a fish room, and it doesnt need to look pretty, just repair it. some silicone, an extra pice of glass to cover the crack on the inside and you should be right.
Elapid
Thanks bud, I'm not sure what happened to make it crack, nothing has been changed in the tank and there are no heavy rocks etc. I will drain it today and try patching it, have just finished moving all the fish around in to their temp accommodation so hopefully it should all be okay. I will let it cure for a week before I try to refill...not happy jan
joller
is it possible that a sudden temperature change caused it to break? is the tank in sunlight or near something hot or cold?
obsessed1
I'd be looking at your stand. If it's a wooden stand then it has possibly warped and caused your tank to warp. If its a metal stand then it may not have been perfectly level. Along with these I'd also make sure that your foam underneath the tank is thick enough as this would usually help absorb any minor warping or unevenness.
