allcrazythings
Hi all, im very close to buying a large tank, still waiting till i find the right one, hoping 8ft +. What kind of filtration would i need? Im only used to using canisters etc, also what price is reasonable for something like 8x3x3? Thanks!
~matt~
Something that big will have to be custom made, i recomend going to Abyss Aquariums in Campbelltown they build qualty tanks for a good price and they will build one to any size you want. I think for an 8*3*3 from them you will be looking at around $1900. For filtration i think your gonna have to go with a sump.
tanoz
i think it would be a little more than 1900. 96x30x36 1678L $1855.00 thats their price nd thats 8x2.5x3 so a little extra. just give them a call nd find out yes the sump is the ideal method especially if its a display with a wavemaker or something along the lines
obsessed1
I run canisters on my 8x2x2 but would definitely recommend a sump for that size. I'd also check out this thread of how much work is involved in setting up this size tank properly. You'll get heaps of great ideas too! http://www.aceforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=47317
